A new scientific achievement for students of the Department of Medical Laboratory Technologies at Al-Amal College for Specialized Medical Sciences
As part of its commitment to supporting scientific research and encouraging innovation, the fourth stage students in the Department of Medical Laboratory Technologies at Al-Amal College of Specialized Medical Sciences completed a distinguished research project under the supervision of Dr. Fadel Handal Al-Mayahi, in accordance with the directives of Prof. Dr. Mufid Jalil Awad, Dean of the Faculty, who emphasizes the importance of scientific research in developing the health sector and community service.
The research is entitled:
"The correlation between Metformin and Vitamin D3 Levels and Their Effect on the Development of Lupus Erythematosus Disease"
It aims to study the effect of metformin and vitamin D (Calciferol) on patients with lupus red, through field research conducted at the Imam Hussein City Medical Hospital in the holy city of Karbala. This study is a qualitative step in the field of clinical immunology, as it
contributes to reducing the complications of the disease and developing more effective treatment and diagnostic strategies.
The research was carried out in the college's laboratories equipped with the latest technologies, including the advanced ELISA device, which allowed students to achieve accurate scientific results that reflect the advanced level of the Department of Medical Laboratory Technologies, and its role in supporting research projects that contribute to enriching medical knowledge.
Commenting on this achievement, Prof. Mufid Jalil Awad stressed that Al-Amal College of Specialized Medical Sciences is continuing its approach to promote a culture of scientific research and provide an advanced academic environment that enables students to conduct qualitative studies that contribute to the advancement of the health sector. He also pointed out that supporting such research reflects the college's vision in preparing qualified cadres capable of keeping pace with scientific developments and contributing effectively to improving health services.
The College renews its commitment to continue supporting distinguished research projects, based on its academic and community responsibility, with the aim of achieving pioneering scientific achievements that keep pace with global developments in the medical field and contribute to achieving sustainable development.
