Al-Amal College for Specialized Medical Sciences Strengthens Partnership with Karbala Health Directorate through a Twinning Agreement
As part of efforts to enhance collaboration between academic institutions and the healthcare sector, a delegation from Al-Amal College for Specialized Medical Sciences visited the Karbala Health Directorate to initiate a twinning agreement aimed at improving educational and training processes for students while supporting the healthcare sector with qualified professionals.
The delegation included Dr. Abdul Ameer Al-Khafaji, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs; Dr. Rafea Abdul Redha, Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs; Dr. Shukriya Al-Akeeli, Director of the Quality Assurance Department; and Mr. Hussein Razaq, Head of the Student Activities Division. They were received by Dr. Uday Al-Salami, Assistant Director General of the Karbala Health Directorate, who welcomed the initiative and emphasized its importance in bridging academic learning with practical healthcare experience.
The two sides discussed the terms of the twinning agreement, which includes student training at hospitals, laboratories, and health centers affiliated with the Health Directorate, as well as inviting specialized professionals to serve as guest lecturers. The agreement also includes cooperation in joint scientific research, the provision of public health awareness materials to the college, and the organization of specialized conferences and workshops.
These visits and agreements are part of the directives of Professor Dr. Mofeed Jaleel Awad, Dean of Al-Amal College for Specialized Medical Sciences, who emphasized the college’s commitment to providing a comprehensive educational environment. He stressed the importance of integrating theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice in real healthcare settings, and affirmed that collaboration with the Karbala Health Directorate enhances the quality of medical education and prepares students for effective entry into the workforce.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties agreed to set a later date for the official signing of the agreement upon the return of the General Director of the Karbala Health Directorate. A group photo was taken to commemorate the meeting, marking a significant step toward deepening cooperation for the benefit of both students and the wider community.
