Al-Amal College Organizes an Awareness Course on the Cyber Risks of Digital Advertising

Al-Amal College for Specialized Medical Sciences organized a training course titled "Awareness of the Cyber Risks of Digital Advertising," aimed at shedding light on the modern methods adopted by digital platforms to track users and collect their data. The course also highlighted the severe risks associated with malicious advertisements and electronic traps that may lead to the spread of viruses and device hacking.

The course was presented by Eng. Ali Ismail, Director of the Information Technology (IT) Division at the College. He reviewed the most prominent technologies utilized in targeting users through advertisements, in addition to explaining the working mechanisms of fake links and the digital fraud methods prevalent in cyberspace.

Furthermore, the course included a comprehensive set of practical guidelines to enhance digital security. These included the use of secure browsers, avoiding clicking on untrusted links, and adopting best practices that actively contribute to protecting privacy and securing personal devices.

The course witnessed the attendance of the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Mufeed Jalil Awad, alongside his Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Abdul Amir Al-Khafaji, and a number of faculty members, staff, and students. The attendees actively interacted with the course topics through extensive discussions that focused on the critical importance of spreading cyber awareness, particularly regarding digital advertisements, fraudulent messages, and effective ways to prevent them.

This course comes as part of Al-Amal College's continuous efforts to promote a safe digital culture and keep pace with rapidly accelerating technological challenges, thereby significantly contributing to the protection of the academic community from increasing cyber risks.
