Al-Amal College Inaugurates Its Annual Five-a-Side Football Tournament Amidst a Distinct Competitive Atmosphere

Al-Amal College for Specialized Medical Sciences inaugurated its annual five-a-side football (Futsal) tournament, organized by the Student Activities Division. The event kicked off in a sports atmosphere full of enthusiasm and a spirit of challenge, featuring wide participation from the College's departments and students. This initiative is part of the College's ongoing efforts to support extracurricular activities and foster team spirit and positive competition among students.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Mufeed Jalil; the Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Abdul Amir Al-Khafaji; the Associate Dean for Administrative Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Rafie Abdul Ridha; and Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Tamimi, alongside a number of faculty members and students.

The opening ceremonies commenced with the playing of the Iraqi National Anthem, followed by an official salute to the participating teams in a scene that reflected a spirit of belonging and responsibility. Subsequently, Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Tamimi announced the launch of the tournament by placing the competition trophy in front of the participating teams, marking the start of the official matches.

The first day of the tournament witnessed several exciting matches, with the following notable results:

• Opening Match: The Dentistry Department (Third Stage) team achieved a resounding victory over the Pharmacy Department (Fourth Stage) team with a score of (10–0), asserting their strong presence from the very first round.

• The Medical Laboratory Techniques Department team secured a win against the Al-Amal College Team (B) with a score of (3–0).

• The Dentistry Department (Fifth Stage) team overcame the Pharmacy Department (Third Stage - B) team with a score of (4–2).

• The Dentistry Department (Second Stage) team achieved an exciting victory over the Dentistry Department (Third Stage) team with a score of (5–3).

This tournament aligns with the College's vision of providing a comprehensive university environment that combines academic excellence with sports activities. This approach contributes to developing students' skills, enhancing the spirit of cooperation and teamwork among them, and reflects the College Deanship's commitment to supporting various student events that help build a well-rounded university student personality.
