Al-Amal College Faculty Member Earns a PhD for Her Dissertation on the "Development Road"

Faculty member Dr. Marwa Hassan Al-Masoudi, from the Department of Medical Laboratory Techniques at Al-Amal College for Specialized Medical Sciences, has been awarded a PhD in Economics for her dissertation titled: "The Economic and Social Impacts of the Development Road in Iraq – A Prospective Vision."

The dissertation addressed the Development Road project as one of the most critical strategic projects Iraq relies upon to achieve integration with global development corridors, attract foreign investments, and stimulate the local economic cycle in alignment with regional and international developmental projects.

Dr. Al-Masoudi highlighted the project's significance in enhancing economic growth, diversifying income sources, creating job opportunities, and developing the transportation and infrastructure sectors, as well as its social and environmental impacts. She also investigated the potential challenges facing the project and ways to overcome them, emphasizing that its success depends on integrated strategic planning, fostering an attractive investment environment, and effectively addressing security and political challenges.

The study concluded that the Development Road represents a major opportunity for Iraq to build a robust economy and a cohesive society, provided its implementation is coupled with sound management and a comprehensive vision that ensures the realization of the desired economic and social returns.
