Students of Al-Amal College for Specialized Medical Sciences Publish Scientific Research in a Scopus-Indexed Journal

In a distinguished scientific achievement that adds to the prestigious record of Al-Amal College for Specialized Medical Sciences, students from the Pharmacy Department successfully published their scientific research paper titled:

"Six-Membered Heterocycles as VEGFR-2 Kinase Inhibitors: A Structural and Therapeutic Review"

The paper was published in the esteemed ChemistrySelect journal, which is classified within the global Scopus databases.

This research was conducted under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Mahmoud Khalifa, with the active participation of a group of outstanding students from the College's Pharmacy Department, namely: Tuqa Khalid Kadhim, Umm Al-Banin Alaa Mohammed, Ruqayya Youssef Hassan, Zahraa Hassan Abbas, Ali Khaldoun, Hussein Khalid, and Zainab Ali.

The research comprehensively reviews the latest developments in the design of VEGFR-2 kinase inhibitors, which are responsible for angiogenesis in cancerous tumors. It specifically focuses on six-membered heterocyclic compounds such as quinazoline, quinoline, and pyrimidine. Furthermore, the paper includes an advanced scientific analysis of the Structure-Activity Relationship (SAR), alongside a thorough discussion of the most prominent modern strategies to overcome drug resistance in cancer treatment.

This remarkable achievement underscores the advanced scientific level attained by the College's students. It also highlights the College's active role in supporting scientific research and continuously encouraging students to publish in rigorous international journals, thereby significantly enhancing its academic standing and active presence in global scientific forums.
